About the role

Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and lead security initiatives for CoreWeave's hyperscale AI cloud infrastructure, focusing on network security across data center perimeters and internal fabrics, with Zero Trust, monitoring, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Network Security Architecture: Design and deploy security measures across the network perimeter and internal fabrics (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, segmentation, configuration health, best practices) to protect globally distributed hyperscale infrastructure.
  • Zero Trust Implementation: Champion a Zero Trust security model across network and cloud environments; enforce least-privilege access, continuous verification, and micro-segmentation.
  • Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Establish monitoring for network security events and breaches; identify vulnerabilities; coordinate incident response to minimize impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Networking, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams to integrate security into architecture, deployments, and processes; provide security guidance during design and code reviews.
  • AI Infrastructure & Interconnect Security: Secure high-density GPU clusters and low-latency fabrics; protect customer data in transit.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead security initiatives; mentor engineers; conduct security training; promote a security-first culture.
  • Policy Development: Develop and refine security policies and SOPs for scalable distributed environments; ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in network security engineering in large-scale cloud or hyperscaler environments; proven track record protecting complex, distributed systems at scale.
  • Deep understanding of network security principles and technologies (DDoS mitigation, data center fabrics, web exploits defense, zero trust).
  • Strong knowledge of securing modern cloud and network architectures; proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, HTTP/S; network segmentation, VPNs, firewall configurations; experience securing AWS, GCP, Azure or custom hyperscale infrastructure and containerized environments.
  • Experience leading security initiatives and mentoring engineers; ability to instill a security-first mindset across teams.
  • Excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skills with Networking, Infrastructure, DevOps/SRE, and Software.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and reviewing security policies and controls for scalable distributed systems; familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2 and cloud applicability.
