About the role

Internship at AMD in Cambridge, UK for Summer 2027 focused on software engineering. Onsite full-time role with mentorship, training, and opportunities to work on real software projects across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications
  • We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
  • We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process
  • We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
  • In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed

Qualifications

  • You are currently enrolled in a UK based University into a Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Familiarity with C and C++
  • Exposure to object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, operating systems concepts, and multithreaded programming
  • Experience with design and code development, Linux environments, and modern software tools and techniques
  • Exposure to machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and computer vision through coursework or projects
  • Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, JAX, and/or Caffe
  • Exposure to kernel development (e.g., Linux kernel modules, device drivers, low-level system programming)
  • Familiarity with debugging and optimizing kernel-level code
  • Exposure to CUDA or HIP for accelerating ML workloads
  • Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure for hosting and deploying applications
