About the role

Engineering leadership role in Japan to manage complex robotics projects, coordinating with US HQ and Japanese customers, system integrators, and internal teams to design, deploy, and optimize robotic systems at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with HQ’s core teams to develop products/systems to meet the requirements of Japanese customers
  • Work throughout the technology stack to design, build, and monitor solutions and systems that improve operational efficiency and system reliability and enable scalability
  • Guide systems architecture (build-out and improvements) by offering suggestions for reliability and optimization of production systems
  • Understand the Dexterity system architecture, individual sub-system components, and their dependencies and explain to partners and customers how the Dexterity system works when required
  • Support the system commissioning process with Linux command line to ensure successful deployments and operations of robotics applications in Japan
  • Confirm existing and new features required by Japanese customers and discuss whether or not to triage features in line with business impacts
  • Support the process of root cause analysis and debugging to maintain deployed system operations
  • Introspect on the performance (speed, quality, and autonomy) of control, vision, and data software running on the robot system and develop optimizations to improve them
  • Support product definition and drive closure of architecture and technical opens in the early stages of a project
  • Identify and highlight technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in partnership with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating complex robotics projects with external and internal stakeholders (customers, system integrators, core engineering teams)
  • Strong understanding of robotics software/hardware architecture and system integration
  • Proficiency with Linux command line for system commissioning and deployment
  • Ability to analyze system performance and drive optimizations across control, vision, and data software
