About the role

HID Algorithms Software Engineer responsible for building infrastructure and solution patterns for sensor data processing algorithms underpinning Apple’s human interface devices. Focus on designing and implementing production algorithm frameworks, collaborating across software, firmware, and algorithm teams, and scaling libraries for future HID technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement production algorithm frameworks for new technologies, fusing them with existing capabilities to bring new experiences to users
  • Design and build scalable, high-quality shared libraries for HID technologies
  • Collaborate with software, firmware and algorithm engineers to design complete solutions and build scalable systems
  • Balance efforts between near-term product cycles and long-term roadmaps, while exploring GenAI-enabled development improvements
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Perform problem solving and root cause analysis on complex systems

Qualifications

  • Strong C/C++ programming
  • Solid experience in software architecture design (architecture, maintainability and scalability)
  • Understanding and advocacy of good software design principles
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Solid algorithm or math fundamentals (linear algebra, statistics, signal processing, machine learning)
  • Comfort working with topics like linear algebra, statistics, signal processing, machine learning
  • Experience with embedded or resource-constrained systems
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration and development tools
