About the role

Engineer on the Proactive Intelligence Platform team focused on on-device personal and contextual intelligence, collaborating across Apple to train, qualify, deploy, and serve models; design and refine ML/generative AI systems and APIs, adapt model architectures to execution environments, and drive research into practical applications for hundreds of millions of Apple users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with teams across Apple on training, qualifying, deploying, and serving models
  • designing and refining systems and APIs for Machine Learning and Generative AI
  • understanding and adapting new model architectures to constraints of their execution environments
  • working with leadership across Apple to define policy
  • bringing industry leading research to hundreds of millions of people using Apple products every day
  • participating in all stages of software development, from feature design to maintenance and bug fixing
  • developing and improving unit tests, performance tests, and diagnosing/resolving customer reported issues

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of OS architecture and systems programming fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
  • Proven ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply cutting-edge research into tangible applications
  • Exceptional professionalism, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Development experience for iOS and/or macOS
  • Development experience with Python
  • Background architecting and building data or machine learning platforms
