About the role
Join Apple’s SoC design machine learning team to develop and implement ML-driven methodologies and solutions that optimize RTL design, verification, and power/performance/area efforts across the chip-design process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and AIML to keep solutions state-of-the-art, with opportunities to contribute to generative AI and ML optimizations for next-generation Apple application processors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement methodologies and solutions with high impact on SoC design and related functions from design to validation.
- Build and deploy generative AI and machine learning solutions to optimize RTL design, verification, and PPA (Power/Performance/Area) efforts.
- Collaborate with internal multi-functional teams and the Apple AIML organization to tailor ML solutions to domain-specific needs.
- Stay current with emerging ML and chip-design technologies to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities.
- Possibly provide leadership and mentorship within the team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of BS + 3 years relevant industry experience.
- Practical experience and knowledge of generative AI and modern machine learning methods.
- Experience with RAG systems including embedding models, retrieval strategies, and context optimization techniques; Generative AI pipeline development; AI evaluation and testing proficiency including test suite design and human evaluation frameworks; AI coding assistants; AI infrastructure protocols such as MCP.
- Experience with Deep neural networks and reinforcement learning (a plus).
- Solid math background and understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with current deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX or MLX).
- Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL).
- Experience with chip design and verification front-end flows is a plus (e.g., UVM testbenches, Static timing analysis, CDC/RDC).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Master’s or PhD with relevant publications preferred but not required.
