About the role

Forward‑thinking IC designer role focusing on high‑performance AMS circuits for SerDes PHY. Involves evaluating circuit topologies, transistor‑level implementation, behavioral modeling, layout supervision, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver IPs meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high‑performance and high‑speed AMS circuits used in SerDes PHY (e.g., Rx, CDR, Tx, bias generator, clock generation, low‑jitter distribution, phase interpolator, DLL, VCO)
  • Evaluate different circuit topologies for product requirements with best in class power, performance, and area (PPA)
  • Create block‑level specifications with cross‑functional teams (architecture, SIPI, packaging, board design, DFT, ESD)
  • Perform transistor‑level implementation and behavioral modelling
  • Drive mask design to implement the layout view of designs
  • Collaborate with SOC teams to deliver IP views that meet quality standards
  • Communicate progress and discuss new ideas with peers/management in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • PhD/master’s degree in Electric Engineering or relevant experience
  • Deep understanding of analog mixed‑signal design with experience in high‑speed serial links
  • Solid understanding of designing analog blocks (Bandgap, biasing circuits, LDOs, amplifiers, comparators, switched‑capacitor circuits, ADCs, DACs, oscillators, filters)
  • Understanding of analog mixed‑signal concepts (mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low‑power, low‑noise)
  • Knowledge of digitally assisted analog design concepts (background calibrations, LMS‑based adaptive loops)
  • Experience with high‑speed digital circuits (serializer/deserializer, counters, dividers) and digital design concepts
  • Knowledge of Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits for 20+ Gbps NRZ and PAM (CTLE, DFE, de‑emphasis)
  • Knowledge of CDR architectures and implementations
  • Knowledge of lab equipment and testing
  • Experience in analog mixed‑signal circuit modelling and performance evaluation (SystemVerilog, Matlab, Python, VerilogAMS)
  • Hands‑on experience with AMS IC development from definition to high‑volume production including layout supervision, bench evaluation, correlation, and characterization
  • Nice‑to‑have: timing closure tools (e.g., Nanotime, Primetime), lab testing of high‑speed serial I/O, debugging and data analysis, knowledge of SerDes protocols (PCIe, USB, DP, MPHY), scripting/automation
