About the role

The Global Payroll Services team at Apple is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with strong data automation capabilities to provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive payroll support for multiple countries. The role involves partnering with business users, payroll managers, and vendors to document functional requirements for SAP and non-SAP payroll systems, developing automated data workflows, dashboards, and applying machine learning to optimize payroll processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality customer service to internal and external groups
  • Gathers, defines, and documents functional requirements for SAP technical solutions and non SAP payroll systems
  • Master data management and data audits for payroll
  • Maintains knowledge of PWC/non-SAP payroll managed service models
  • Performs daily payroll support including monitoring, testing, and addressing performance issues
  • Analyzes and explains all components of payroll processing
  • Identifies, analyzes, researches, and resolves errors between internal HR/Employee systems and payroll system
  • Ensures documentation is updated per policies, procedures, regulatory practices, and legal requirements
  • Solves day-to-day operational problems of varied scope and complexity
  • Designs and implements automated data workflows using Dataiku for payroll data processing and validation
  • Develops and maintains Tableau dashboards for real-time payroll metrics and executive reporting
  • Applies machine learning to identify patterns, predict anomalies, and optimize payroll processes
  • Automates data quality checks and reconciliation across payroll systems
  • Supports global peers as back-up for audits, error handling, and payroll processing in AMR/EMEA/APAC regions
  • Handles confidential data and maintains appropriate responsibility
  • Assists other analysts when needed
  • Creates and updates system issue tickets and coordinates with IS&T, ADP, and business partners
  • Participates in cross-functional testing and sign-off for production changes
  • Provides consulting on system behavior and configuration for Comp services
  • Communicates effectively with internal/external partners and leadership
  • Available to work outside business hours to support payroll processing times
  • Supports multiple country payrolls (SAP and non-SAP) and integration with systems like Workday, Kronos, ADP Global View Payroll, PWC
  • Interfaces: manual G2 creation for massive uploads and maintains G2 configuration interface
  • Creates/updates issues tickets and monitors closure
  • Ensures timely communication on critical issues to leadership

Qualifications

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience with large MNCs as support or implementation consultant
  • Experience supporting/implementing multiple country payrolls in SAP and non-SAP
  • Basic understanding of Dataiku for building data pipelines and workflows
  • Basic understanding of Tableau for payroll analytics/reporting
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML models (predictive analytics, classification, anomaly detection) for payroll data analysis
  • Basic understanding of automating repetitive payroll processes using data science tools
  • Experience driving automation and process improvements
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external partners
  • Ability to work outside business hours to support payroll processing times
  • Knowledge of SAP HR, PWC payroll, and other payroll interfaces; Workday integration knowledge preferred
