About the role

Hardware-focused full-cycle recruiter responsible for building and closing a team of mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, NPI, test, supply chain, and technician roles for Physical Intelligence’s hardware initiatives, including collaboration with co-founder and hardware leadership, and hiring across research, engineering, and factory/ fleet operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own every search end-to-end for hardware roles (mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, NPI, test, supply chain, technicians) across research, engineering, and factory/fleet teams.
  • Partner with hardware leadership to design roles, talent strategy, and close exceptional candidates.
  • Design interview processes with hiring managers, incorporating prototyping exercises and hands-on trials; calibrate interview loops and maintain hiring bar.
  • Develop closing strategies to move candidates to Fremont; build pipelines and share playbooks with the recruiting team.
  • Act as a partner and peer to hardware leaders, ensuring hiring speed and maintaining scope.
  • Be a steward and ambassador to candidates, delivering respectful candidate experiences.
  • Maintain a strong network and market awareness to identify top hardware talent.
  • Provide expert insights on compensation discussions and talent moves (e.g., senior engineers and sign-ons).
  • Monitor data-driven recruiting metrics (source conversion, trial pass rates, offer outcomes) and work with scientists to quantify actions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting, with substantial experience hiring hardware roles (mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, test, supply chain, or technician) at physical-products companies.
  • A strong network of hardware candidates available to engage immediately.
  • Real hardware fluency (understanding EVT/DVT/PVT, PCBA supply management vs. buying, differentiating design vs. manufacturing roles).
  • Experience recruiting across design engineering and factory/fleet domains; ability to carry breadth beyond a single subdomain.
  • A demonstrated high-bar track record of successful hires and the ability to articulate what makes their hires difficult.
  • Resilience, urgency, analytical rigor, and curiosity about robots and factory work.
