About the role

Founding generalist role in Oath Technologies, an early hire focused on building the organization, with responsibilities spanning hiring, operations, finance, vendor/partner management, and governance, reporting to the CEO as the team scales.

Responsibilities

  • Convergent Research liaison: coordinate with fiscal sponsor, fulfill FRO-owned responsibilities, and manage handoffs as activities move into the FRO.
  • Operations and finance: budget management, financial reporting and oversight, expense management; build operational systems; coordinate with Convergent’s finance function; set up and scale office space in Berkeley.
  • Hiring and onboarding: run Year 1+ hiring pipeline, source candidates, design and coordinate interview process, onboard new hires.
  • People management: initially peer to the CEO with no reports, potential evolution to People Ops in compensation, evaluation, culture, and employee relations in partnership with Convergent Research.
  • Vendor and partner administration: manage relationships with R&D contractors, vendors (compute, legal counsel, recruiters), and logistics for partner/funder engagements.
  • Board & stakeholder management: prepare materials for Board of Directors, Strategic Advisory Board, donor updates, and other engagements.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate without a playbook and get tasks done.
  • Experience at an early-stage organization, ideally in founding or organizational design roles.
  • Comfort across hiring, operations, finance, vendor management, and people management with support from Convergent Research.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and build consensus.
