About the role

Meticulous, technically sharp Production Artist to join the packaging team. Responsible for transforming packaging and print concepts into flawless, press-ready files, owning production workflows, and leading initiatives such as rolling out a new brand font across packaging and print ecosystems. Remote role based in Europe, supporting a U.S.-based creative team.

Responsibilities

  • Translate designs into clean, technically accurate, press-ready files for packaging and print.
  • Apply dielines, manage file layers, and prepare files for various print and production formats.
  • Convert Figma layouts into production-ready assets with precision and consistency.
  • Serve as the final quality check before anything goes to print, catching every detail, every time.
  • Ensure all production files meet vendor specifications, color standards, and substrate requirements, with working familiarity of U.S.-based print production environments and expectations.
  • Maintain the highest design quality standards, including alignment, proportions, margins, and overall layout precision; every file should be pixel-perfect.
  • Support proofing, pre-press, and press check processes with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external production teams to troubleshoot and problem-solve, with a strong ability to do so asynchronously across time zones when needed.
  • Own the file management system for packaging assets, keeping everything organized, clearly labeled, and accessible to a distributed team.
  • Maintain clarity on active vs. released files and ensure stakeholders are always working with the most up-to-date materials.
  • Create and maintain production templates, dieline guides, and reference materials.
  • Contribute to documentation and onboarding resources to support team efficiency and alignment across geographies.
  • Manage ongoing brand font rollout across packaging, collateral, and print templates.
  • Support the design and production of brand magazines and printed collateral.
  • Maintain artwork consistency across assets and ensure alignment with evolving brand guidelines.
  • Own the production design process; proactively contribute, think ahead, and collaborate with teams to uphold creative intent through production.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in print and packaging production design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and ability to translate digital designs into print-ready files.
  • Deep understanding of print production, packaging materials, color management, and dielines — including familiarity with U.S.-based print standards and vendor workflows.
  • Experience managing system updates such as fonts and templates across large sets of files.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • A keen eye for layout, typography, and consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; you take pride in clean files and clear systems.
  • Experience working directly with vendors, printers, and packaging suppliers.
  • Comfort with flexible scheduling, asynchronous communication, and the self-direction required to thrive in a remote, cross-time-zone environment.
