About the role
Factory Technician to cut, inspect, and ship aluminum components for aerospace and defense customers in Detroit. Training provided; hands-on role working with saws, CNCs, forklifts, and cranes with a focus on safety, quality, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial saws, bandsaws, CNC equipment, and material handling systems
- Load, measure, cut, and inspect aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to spec
- Run forklifts and overhead cranes, with training and certification
- Follow cut lists and production schedules with precision
- Receive inbound material and verify against purchase orders
- Package, label, and stage outbound shipments
- Record cut data and job completions in software systems
- Look at every process and figure out how to make it better
- Keep the floor clean, organized, and ready for the next job
- Work safely every shift and hold teammates to the same standard
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable or experienced in a factory, metals center, or with skilled trades
- Committed to safety
- Attentive with regards to quality, every cut, every cert, every shipment
- Always thinking about how to make processes better
- Customer obsessed
- Team player with a good attitude
- Owns shift responsibility
- Precise under pressure and reliable
- Comfortable with software
- Organized and detail oriented
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs., operate heavy equipment, and stand for full shifts with or without reasonable accommodation
- Not afraid to work outside normal hours when required
