About the role

Manager responsible for direct and indirect taxation of fixed assets, property tax, and related tax data infrastructure to support depreciation and tax reporting for CoreWeave’s rapidly expanding data center footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the US property tax compliance cycle — filings, assessment review, bill processing, payment approval, accruals, and appeal support across expanding sites and jurisdictions.
  • Maintain the tax fixed asset data set: reconcile to NetSuite asset register and capital forecast, resolve asset classification/location discrepancies, and prepare data for tax depreciation and property tax reporting.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Operations to understand the fixed asset lifecycle from purchase to capitalization to inter-site transfers, disposals, and retirements and their impact on property tax reporting and tax depreciation.
  • Prepare and update the property tax forecast each quarter, including new locations, lien dates, and construction-in-progress/inventory positions.
  • Manage property tax audits and assessment appeals day to day; assemble asset records, prepare valuation/classification support, and act as primary contact for assessors and auditors.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for outside property tax advisors; manage calendar, provide reconciled data, review deliverables, and monitor advisor fees against scope.
  • Support Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics on tax consequences of asset movement and exemption certificate/direct pay permit administration.
  • Support Data Center Construction and Site Development on construction-period questions and construction pay applications; build direct working relationships with these teams.
  • Partner with Direct Tax to deliver fixed asset inputs for depreciation methods analysis, placed-in-service determinations, and tax reporting.
  • Track capital investment and abatement commitments tied to incentive agreements and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Document and improve processes and controls to scale with capital expenditure volume.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive tax experience in capital-intensive environments (data centers, cloud, telecommunications, energy, manufacturing, or real estate).
  • Hands-on experience with US property tax compliance, including real and personal property filings, assessment review, and accrual support.
  • Direct experience with a tax fixed asset register — reconciling asset data, resolving classification/location issues, and producing depreciation reporting.
  • Working knowledge of federal tax depreciation mechanics (MACRS, bonus depreciation, placed-in-service determinations).
  • Experience applying sales and use tax to capital equipment, including exemption certificate management and equipment taxability analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with Accounting Operations and with Supply Chain/Procurement along asset lifecycle lifecycle traceability.
  • Proficiency with ERP and fixed asset systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle Fixed Assets, or equivalents) and advanced Excel; comfortable with large data sets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
