About the role
Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and lead security initiatives for CoreWeave’s hyperscale AI cloud infrastructure, focusing on network security across data center perimeters and internal fabrics, with a Zero Trust approach and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Network Security Architecture: Design and deploy robust security measures across the network perimeter and internal fabrics (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, segmentation, configuration health, best practices) to protect globally distributed hyperscale infrastructure hosting large-scale AI workloads.
- Zero Trust Implementation: Champion a Zero Trust security model across network and cloud environments; architect least-privilege access, continuous verification, and micro-segmentation of services.
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Establish monitoring for network security events, identify vulnerabilities, and coordinate incident response to minimize impact.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Networking, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams to integrate security best practices; provide guidance during design and code reviews.
- AI Infrastructure & Interconnect Security: Secure high-density GPU clusters and ultra-low latency fabrics; protect customer data in transport.
- Leadership & Education: Foster a security-first mindset, conduct training, and lead security policy enforcement.
- Policy Enforcement: Refine, implement, and enforce security policies and SOPs for scalable, distributed environments; review postures and adapt policies as the company grows.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in network security engineering, with exposure to large-scale cloud or hyperscaler environments.
- Deep understanding of network security principles and technologies, including mitigating DDoS, securing high-speed data center fabrics, defending web exploits, and implementing zero trust.
- Strong knowledge of securing modern cloud and network architectures; proficient in TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, HTTP/S, network segmentation, VPNs, firewall configurations; experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or custom hyperscale infrastructure and containers.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute input to security initiatives end-to-end; experience educating peer engineers and partner teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams to design secure solutions.
- Experience with security policies and controls for scalable distributed systems; familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2 and cloud applicability.
