About the role

Apple is seeking a Global Sourcing & Supply Manager (GSSM) to assist with strategic planning, long term deal structuring and negotiations. The role interfaces with procurement, engineering, finance and legal, as well as external suppliers and foundries, and focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies, supplier management, and long-term supply continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge competitive forces.
  • Perform supplier financial research, spend analysis and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals.
  • Negotiate optimal terms with suppliers, balancing cost, volume, and quality for long-term supply continuity.
  • Collaborate across Apple to ensure business objectives are met and synthesize findings for senior leaders.
  • Identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy and communicate them effectively.
  • Optimize supply chain performance through cost and capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking.
  • Develop understanding of value-added manufacturing processes, costs and market intelligence to influence product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
  • Provide program management support and contribute to development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Supply Chain or related area
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a related field
  • Proficiency with cost analysis and/or data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar)
  • Adept at managing competing priorities and solving complex problems with composure and rigor under deadline pressure.
