About the role

AI-first Technical Evangelist with deep systems engineering expertise in AI/ML runtimes, responsible for driving ecosystem adoption, engaging developers, and accelerating adoption of Apple AI technologies across platforms in Greater China.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with strategic developers, developer communities, and internal stakeholders to lead initiatives that help developers deliver magical, AI-powered experiences across Apple platforms.
  • Act as a trusted two-way bridge: synthesize patterns from developer interactions, isolate systemic API friction points or performance gaps, file precise technical feedbacks, and create and land actionable technical engagement plan.
  • Evangelize design principles, development tools, and AI frameworks to developers across Greater China, guiding technical roadmaps and driving high-quality adoption of Apple AI technologies at scale.
  • Cultivate trust-based relationships with senior leaders at key strategic developer accounts, from indie creators to enterprise CXOs, VP of Engineering, and Heads of AI.
  • Represent Apple's strategic platforms at global developer conferences, technical workshops, and community initiatives, presenting complex AI paradigms with clarity and conviction.
  • Rapidly self-onboard into unfamiliar architectures, frameworks, and academic research, turning new concepts into working code and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to inspire developers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with hands-on AI/ML engineering beyond API integration.
  • Solid grasp of modern AI architectures (LLMs, Diffusion, Multimodal models) across training, conversion, quantization, and edge deployment.
  • Battle-tested expertise in AI inference optimization, custom runtimes, serving engines, and pipeline acceleration (proficiency in MLX, Core ML / Core AI, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, vLLM, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional hands-on coding and debugging skills; ability to resolve deep architectural roadblocks.
  • Effective communicator; ability to understand needs, make strategic decisions, and lead execution.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (required).
  • Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep understanding of hardware-software co-design, including Apple Silicon architectures, memory bandwidth, and quantization techniques (FP8, INT4, KV cache compression).
  • Experience translating low-level AI capabilities into products, native apps, or developer tools/SDKs.
  • Familiarity with modern client-side ecosystems and building visually engaging UIs (Swift, SwiftUI, Python, TypeScript tooling).
  • Obsession with developer and customer experience across AI Model to Inference Runtime to System Layer to End-User Application.
  • Experience developing immersive AR spatial applications (visionOS) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with autonomy and ownership.
