About the role

Music licensing negotiation and contract support for Apple’s original content music legal team, supporting the production and music legal and business needs of Apple’s original content development and production activities.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts in support of our attorneys.
  • Interpret, draft, negotiate and manage music, new media, television and film contracts, including synchronization licenses for television and film and trailers or other marketing/promotional spots.
  • Contract management across different types of programming, ideally within a major studio or streaming service.
  • Evaluate deal structures and proactively anticipate production and post-production timelines.
  • Leverage knowledge of the music business across various production contracts and deals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships within the music and entertainment industries.
  • Handle music-related matters including composer, music supervisor, songwriter, co-publisher, artist, talent, producer and record label deals, synchronization and master use licensing, new media distribution, non-scripted content and other emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in interpreting, drafting, negotiating and managing music, new media, television and film contracts, including synchronization licenses for television and film and trailers or other marketing/promotional spots
  • Extensive experience in contract management, ideally at a major studio or streaming service across different types of programming
  • Deep understanding of contract terms for music licensing, music talent and music production agreements
  • Ability to evaluate various deal structures and proactively anticipate production and post-production timelines
  • Extensive knowledge of the music business and experience across different production contracts and deals
  • Established, strong relationships within the music and entertainment industries
  • Experience with a variety of music related matters including composer, music supervisor, songwriter, co-publisher, artist, talent, producer and record label deals, synchronization and master use licensing, new media distribution, non-scripted content and other emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and strong sense of professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams
  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle multiple projects at a time
  • Bachelor’s Degree
