About the role

Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions team seeks an experienced project manager to support data scientists in fighting fraud within Apple’s Retail Ecosystem. The role focuses on coordinating strategic roadmaps, balancing short-term operational responses with long-term vision, and driving cross-functional initiatives to improve security, mitigate fraud, and optimize efficiency while preserving customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support our operations—managing business critical metrics by partnering closely with our technical and business partners
  • Get into the details on analytical projects
  • Prioritize work in alignment with urgent operational responses as well as long-term roadmap vision to balance impact, cost, resourcing, timeline and risk
  • Build partnerships with key business and engineering leaders across multiple teams
  • Continually identify and drive opportunities for process improvement
  • Guide brainstorming and innovation
  • Drive intra- and cross-team projects from inception through release and monitoringKeep partners informed
  • Work under limited supervision, use good judgment and know when to seek guidance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any analytical, quantitative or technical field (engineering, math, computer science, finance or similar), or equivalent experience
  • Experience organizing and leading cross-functional technical projects (clarifying requirements, resolving conflicts, defining roadmap and driving progress)
  • Ability to think broadly about business, customer and system impact
  • Ability to learn and provide in-depth evaluations of complex engineering and analytic issues
  • Skilled at using data to present, advocate for and prioritize among solutions
  • Experience motivating and empowering others to do their best work
  • Previous experience with engineering, data analysis, machine learning or fraud detection/response is preferred
  • The ideal candidate is inquisitive and has a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
