About the role

Senior Build and Release Engineer within Apple’s Home Systems Software (HSS) Engineering Operations, focusing on automating and improving the build and release processes, incorporating AI tools, and driving scalable, reliable CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect and implement tools that optimize our engineering workflow.
  • Maintain and improve current build and release tooling and take it to the next level.
  • Drive new processes across the engineering organization related to build and release.
  • Use AI tools to increase efficiency and velocity and look for opportunities to build AI into automation, tooling and support workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience in a software build & release related role
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., coding assistants and LLM-based tools) to increase efficiency and velocity
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery platforms (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Advanced experience with source control (e.g. Git)
  • Experience with branching strategies and best practices
  • Experience building large-scale software and triaging failures
  • Ability to work effectively across different teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working with Xcode
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong experience with Jenkins
  • Experience with Bitbucket
