About the role

Senior Software Engineer to design, write, and ship production software for Apple Services Security. Focus on building automated security assurance, agentic and LLM-driven components, and tooling that integrate into developers’ workflows to improve software supply chain security.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and operate security services and features, including scanning and assurance tooling, agentic and LLM-integrated components, backends and APIs, and integrations that fit into developers’ workflows
  • Participate in code and security reviews to help peers meet a high bar for the software they ship
  • Conduct research, prototyping, and present ideas, designs, and results to the team, management, and internal customers
  • Own significant components end to end and stay close to the code as they evolve

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including production ownership of non-trivial systems
  • Proficiency in at least two of Python, Go, Java (and comfortable with additional languages as needed)
  • Solid knowledge of software supply chain security concepts (package/dependency risk, build/release integrity, artifact signing/verification, attestation infrastructure, policy-based admission)
  • Experience designing, building, and operating agentic systems and LLM-integrated applications in production (prompt engineering, orchestration, evaluation of model outputs)
  • Familiarity with application security assurance methodologies (static and dynamic analysis) and their operational trade-offs
  • Experience designing and operating distributed backends (APIs, data pipelines, services) with uptime and performance requirements
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and integrating security controls
  • Comfortable operating in Linux and macOS with Bash
  • Understanding of full software development lifecycle (build, test, deploy, monitor)
  • Experience building policy admission systems that enforce security controls at deployment/runtime
  • Experience with threat modeling, taint analysis, or program-analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of common web/service vulnerabilities (injection, IDOR, input validation, authZ/authN flaws)
  • Experience evaluating and integrating new models/services to extend product capabilities
  • Full-stack engineering experience (building user-facing surfaces for internal customers)
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and cloud infrastructure at scale
  • Experience with gRPC and other high-performance service interfaces
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
