About the role

SDET for Retail Engineering (AOS & ASA) Quality Engineering within Apple’s IS&T organization. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and suites to validate web, mobile, and backend eCommerce services; collaborating with software engineers and product managers to define test strategies, ensure testability, and deliver quality metrics across UI and API layers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Java-based technologies (JUnit, TestNG) to validate web, mobile, and backend eCommerce services across AOS and ASA.
  • Design, implement, and maintain UI automation test frameworks and test suites for web and mobile platforms using Selenium, Playwright, Appium, or equivalent tools.
  • Execute API testing using REST Assured and related tools to verify data integrity and backend service functionality.
  • Partner with software engineers and product managers to analyze requirements, map software workflows, and guarantee system testability.
  • Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to maximize coverage across continuous integration pipelines.
  • Define test automation requirements and architect solutions that streamline testing processes and shorten release cycles.
  • Communicate testing status, risk assessments, and quality metrics to cross-functional stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Advocate for software testing best practices and modern engineering methodologies across the organization to elevate overall product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on programming and coding experience, with demonstrated strong proficiency in Java.
  • Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining UI automation frameworks (such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium, or equivalent) for web and/or mobile applications.
  • Professional fluency in English (written and verbal), with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with global cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
