About the role

R2R Accountant within Apple’s EMEIA Global Business Solutions (GBS) organization responsible for accounting, US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance for a portfolio of legal entities, including monthly/quarterly close, control environment, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the key point of contact for assigned entities, owning financial accounting responsibility, and preparing high-quality financial statements in partnership with R2R, GBS pillars, EMEIA Tax, Corporate Legal, and other Finance/Business teams.
  • Overseeing the preparation of corporate income tax returns and other required compliance filings.
  • Managing relationships with external advisors and statutory auditors throughout statutory and tax compliance cycles.
  • Ensuring flawless execution of monthly and quarterly close processes for entities/accounting areas under control, adhering to regional close timetables.
  • Supporting the R2R team in external audits, including tax audits from governmental agencies.
  • Establishing and maintaining a robust control environment to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and SOX processes.
  • Ensuring appropriate systems, processes, tools, and business relationships are in place for effective legal entity controllership and compliance.
  • Actively contributing to GBS initiatives and supporting ad-hoc projects to deliver broader impact.

Qualifications

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen to manage complex accounting/tax calculation models, interpret large datasets, and guide compliance strategies.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple deliverables to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across regions and organisational functions; strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Problem solver with ability to assess complex accounting/tax situations, identify risks, and provide practical solutions.
