About the role

Performance Engineer to drive optimization of software design for Apple’s wireless products, focusing on firmware performance, system-level trade-offs, and methodology development from prototype to productization.

Responsibilities

  • - Develop performance evaluation methodologies for SW/HW prototypes and product-level analysis
  • - Analyze logs and provide recommendations for software design optimizations based on trade-offs at system and product levels
  • - Work with RF, Digital, and Wireless communications domains to debug and optimize firmware performance
  • - Profile CPUs and optimize performance and power within wireless software stacks
  • - collaborate with teams to drive optimization across Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Thread, or related protocols

Qualifications

  • - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • - Programming experience in C or C++
  • - Experience with wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers for debugging
  • - Experience with Python and Matlab for testing, data analysis and visualization
  • - Proficiency in Python with data science libraries for data manipulation and analysis
  • - Strong understanding of power, performance trade-off analysis
  • - Masters or PhD or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • - Research or work experience in using AI/ML towards wireless problems (preferred)
