About the role

Senior Software Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Apple, focused on building and maintaining devops practices, scalability, reliability, and performance for Apple B2B systems. Involves managing the lifecycle of ML models in production, anomaly detection, threat detection, and establishing GitOps-driven, cloud-native CI/CD platforms. Collaborative, technically hands-on role requiring strong programming, architecture, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain best-in-class devops practices for Apple B2B systems
  • Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models in production and non-production environments
  • Continuously assess and improve system processes, detect anomalies, optimize and enhance reliability and performance
  • Lead incident response, RCA, and reliability improvements
  • Design, build, and scale a modern DevOps and SRE ecosystem from scratch; establish standards, tooling, automation, and reliability practices across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure-focused roles
  • Experience building and operating container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or EKS
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python)
  • Experience supporting internet-facing production services and distributed systems; on-call and incident management
  • Proficiency with telemetry, monitoring, and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Understanding of security concepts and protocols (authentication, authorization, signing, encryption, SSL/TLS, SSH/SFTP, PKI, X509, PGP)
  • Knowledge of HTTP/S, TCP, DNS, web application load balancing
  • Deep understanding of Oracle or similar relational databases and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
  • Performance tuning of applications and databases
  • Experience solving Kubernetes issues from OS and application perspectives
  • Experience in large-scale, highly distributed production environments
  • Knowledge of middleware platforms (WebMethods, Apache Camel)
