About the role

Senior product designer in Apple’s Applications group responsible for creating simple, beautiful, and intuitive experiences for beloved apps, with emphasis on information architecture, interactions, and visual storytelling across cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design for delight by creating clear, high-impact experiences that are welcoming and intuitive.
  • Design information architectures, navigation models, and interfaces that shape how users perceive and understand products.
  • Advocate for the human experience by crafting innovative, new interactions.
  • Map out user flows, use cases, and systems to make products immediately recognizable, inclusive, and fun.
  • Simplify complex problem spaces into clear stories and actionable proposals.
  • Dial into the details while maintaining a view of the bigger picture to ensure a seamless end-to-end experience.
  • Collaborate with teammates to push concepts further and communicate decisions through reviews to build consensus.
  • Work alongside engineers and QA to deliver a high-quality final product.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of design experience in a design studio or as a product designer.
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating breadth of work and ability to discuss work confidently.
  • Critical thinker who is imaginative, creative, inventive, andCollaborative.
  • Ability to apply visual design principles (hierarchy, balance, contrast) to new interfaces.
  • Adept at visualizing, simplifying, and representing data in a beautiful, intuitive way to tell a story.
  • Good understanding of design systems and patterns.
  • Proficient with design tools (e.g., Sketch, Illustrator) or equivalent.
  • Passionate about detail yet able to see the bigger picture.
  • Strong presenter, clear communicator, compelling storyteller, and diplomatic in navigating competing interests.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and loose structure.
  • Interest in weather and science.
