About the role

Software engineer role focused on analyzing and improving performance across Apple’s operating systems (iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS), with opportunities to work on tools, API design, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing app performance issues and engaging with systems teams to resolve those issues.
  • Building tools to better characterize performance issues that apps encounter on Apple platforms.
  • Influencing cross-functional teams across Software Engineering to pursue new features that better support apps.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in at least one layer of software development (embedded, UI, server).
  • Understanding how to apply data science rigor to decision making in software development.
  • Aptitude to independently learn new technologies, prototype, and propose software design and solutions.
  • Passion for product quality and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Prior development in Unix, Linux, or macOS.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • CS degree or equivalent experience.
  • App development experience on iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, or visionOS.
  • Understanding of Operating System fundamentals.
  • Strong expertise using Objective-C or Swift.
  • Practical knowledge of Apple SDK technologies like SwiftUI, Swift Data, Swift Concurrency, etc.
