About the role

Senior production designer focused on visual specifications and design-to-engineering hand-off across Apple Media Services apps and platforms, with emphasis on design system work, documentation, and delivering precise engineering-ready specs.

Responsibilities

  • Own visual specification and design-to-engineering hand-off across multiple products and platforms
  • Build and extend design system components, libraries, tokens, and variables
  • Produce detailed design deliverables (spacing, sizing, type tokens, materials, assets, variants) for engineering
  • Maintain consistency across platforms with rigor and discernment
  • Manage own queue of priorities, negotiating scope and timeline trade-offs
  • Coach less experienced designers and set quality standards across the team
  • Collaborate with product designers, producers, and engineering leads to translate design intent into specs
  • Proactively surface problems and drive solutions across teams

Qualifications

  • Several years of professional experience in production design, UX design, or a closely related design-operations role
  • Experience working across multiple platforms simultaneously
  • Ability to independently solve complex, ambiguous problems and drive solutions with minimal guidance
  • Fluent in Figma, including component libraries, design tokens, and variables; comfortable extending an existing design system
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience translating fast-changing design intent into clear, implementation-ready specs
  • Portfolio demonstrating spec and documentation work on shipped products (not just visual design)
