About the role

Engineer with deep expertise in ML or Software Engineering to shape Siri for Spanish users. Work spans ML, NLP, data experiments, and scalable software to deliver personalized, culturally relevant experiences. Lead end-to-end ML/GenAI solutions for the Spanish market, collaborating across Apple to ensure Siri feels native to Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work streams to design and implement large-scale ML and GenAI solutions for the Spanish market.
  • Act as the technical anchor for the Spanish market, coordinating cross-functional efforts.
  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions at the intersection of Machine Learning, Data, and Software Engineering.
  • Leverage LLMs, agentic approaches, and data generation methods to build real-world systems.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across Apple to account for international market nuances and ensure native-feeling Siri for Spanish users.

Qualifications

  • Professional-level fluency in Spanish, with deep familiarity with Spain or other Spanish-speaking regions’ culture and idiom.
  • Experience applying machine learning and NLP techniques to deliver products; solid understanding of ML concepts.
  • Strong software design and programming skills across paradigms; experience contributing to large production code bases.
  • Experience working with data at scale: building or curating datasets, analyzing results, and data-driven decision making.
  • Hands-on experience with large language models: fine-tuning, prompt/context engineering, evaluation, inference optimization; experience with agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Experience with speech technologies such as ASR, TTS, or pronunciation modeling.
  • Experience adapting models/products across languages and markets—multilingual and cross-lingual modeling, transfer learning, or low-resource settings.
  • Ability to formulate research problems, design, experiment, implement, and communicate solutions.
  • Product focus with strong emphasis on end-user experience.
  • Experience writing software in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C; Apple platform experience preferred.
  • M.S., Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
