About the role

Engineer with deep expertise in ML or Software Engineering to shape Siri for Mexican Spanish users. Lead end-to-end ML/GenAI solutions, work across ML, Data, and Software Engineering, and ensure Siri feels native to Mexican users through scalable, data-driven, culturally aware experiences.

Responsibilities

  • - Lead work streams to design and implement large-scale ML and GenAI solutions for the Mexican Spanish market.
  • - Serve as the technical anchor for the Mexican Spanish market, collaborating with partner teams across Apple.
  • - Design and implement end-to-end solutions spanning Speech Recognition, Natural Language Understanding, and Response.
  • - Employ advanced LLMs, agentic approaches, data generation methods, and data experiments to deliver personalized experiences.
  • - Architect scalable software to deliver culturally relevant user experiences and improvements to Siri.
  • - Collaborate on international market nuances to ensure native feel for Mexican users.

Qualifications

  • - Professional-level fluency in Mexican Spanish with deep cultural familiarity.
  • - Experience applying ML and NLP techniques to product development; solid ML concepts knowledge.
  • - Strong software design and programming skills across multiple paradigms; experience with large production codebases.
  • - Experience working with data at scale: building/curating datasets, analyzing results, data-driven decision making.
  • - Hands-on experience with large language models: fine-tuning, prompt/context engineering, evaluation, inference optimization; agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation.
  • - Experience with speech technologies (ASR, TTS, pronunciation modeling).
  • - Experience adapting models/products across languages and markets; multilingual/cross-lingual modeling, transfer learning, or low-resource settings.
  • - Ability to formulate research problems, design, experiment, implement, and communicate solutions.
  • - Product focus with strong emphasis on end-user experience.
  • - Proficiency in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C; experience on Apple platforms preferred.
  • - MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
