About the role
Role focused on SI partnerships to scale Sakana AI’s enterprise adoption by defining strategy, recruiting partners, enabling them, and co-developing solutions. First dedicated SI partner in the GTM team, working with Japan/global partners and cross-functional teams to drive pipeline, deployments, and customer value.
Responsibilities
- Define the SI partnership strategy: segment partners (large Japanese SIs, global SIs and consulting firms, specialist AI firms) across Japan and global markets, assign each a role (sell, refer, deliver, co-build) and secure executive sponsorship on both sides
- Recruit and sign SI and consulting partners, and negotiate partner agreements with Legal
- Build partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline through joint account planning with partner industry and sales teams; define deal registration and rules of engagement with the sales team to prevent channel conflict
- Own partner enablement and certification: sales and technical training, delivery playbooks, reference architectures and sandbox access, together with the API Platform team and Customer Success; track certified practitioners and partner-delivered deployments
- Develop joint solutions and offerings for priority industries (finance, manufacturing and the public sector first), working with product managers and the API Platform team
- Run regular partner business reviews with a scorecard covering pipeline, win rate, deployments and customer satisfaction
- Run joint marketing, events and research publications with partners together with Enterprise Marketing
- Feed partner and customer insights back to product and GTM teams
- Drive seamless collaboration across global teams and partners utilizing both Japanese and English
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in channel, alliances or partnerships selling through system integrators or consulting firms in enterprise technology (AI, cloud, data or SaaS), with partner-sourced revenue you can tie to results
- Ability to build relationships with senior leaders of Japanese and global SI and consulting firms, and to write and present at executive level in both Japanese and English
- Experience designing partner programs: tiers, certification, rules of engagement and incentives
- Enough technical understanding of enterprise AI deployment (security, data handling, integration) to discuss delivery with partner architects and to take responsibility for the accuracy of what you commit to partners
- Comfortable working within confidentiality limits: using what is public, and building new proof with customer consent
- Ability to autonomously drive initiatives in an unestablished, fast-paced startup environment
- Native or professional fluency in both Japanese and English
- Preferred: experience in the partner organization of an AI, cloud or enterprise software vendor; experience with public-sector SIs; experience running partner programs across multiple regions
