About the role

Integration engineer to bring autonomous haulage and heavy equipment platforms to life in the mining industry, owning the integration of drive-by-wire, sensors, compute, and networking on large off-road vehicles and working with platform teams from bare platform to fully commissioned autonomous vehicle on live customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vehicle bring up and commissioning for autonomous haul trucks and heavy equipment, from drive-by-wire and sensor installation through calibration, validation, and customer sign-off
  • Debug across the hardware/software boundary, including CAN/J1939, Ethernet, time synchronization, and sensor drivers
  • Build the tooling, diagnostics, and integration processes that make each new vehicle faster and more reliable to deploy than the last
  • Plan and execute brake, steering, and system-level test campaigns that support functional safety and regulatory compliance
  • Work directly with OEMs, hardware vendors, and customer engineering teams, including time on active mine and quarry sites

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years in vehicle, robotics, or embedded systems integration
  • Experience integrating and bringing up robotic, autonomous, or embedded vehicle systems
  • Strong systems debugging skills across electrical, networking, and software layers
  • Working knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN/J1939) and Ethernet-based sensor and compute architectures
  • Proficiency in Linux and Python, with the ability to read and modify C++
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite at industrial locations for short periods
