About the role
Senior, broadly capable Materials & Processes engineer responsible for coatings, materials, finishes, joining methods, and manufacturing-process standards to support spacecraft programs from development through production.
Responsibilities
- Establish Spacecraft M&P Standards and Strategy
- Materials Selection, Qualification, and Characterization
- Coatings, Polymerics, and Mechanical Joints
- Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Production Readiness
- Cross-Functional Technical Guidance
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Significant experience in materials and processes, high-reliability hardware (aerospace/defense/aviation/medical-device/semiconductor)
- Experience taking material or manufacturing process from development through qualification and production
- Practical experience in coatings/finishes, polymerics/adhesives, thermal-interface materials, mechanical joints/fasteners, metals, ceramics, manufacturing processes, or environmental qualification
- Experience designing and executing material or process tests; interpreting data; resolving failures
- Experience authoring technical specifications, process instructions, qualification plans, test procedures, reports, acceptance criteria
- Ability to work directly with hardware, process equipment, suppliers, and test setups
- Strong ownership, communication, organization, and cross-functional problem-solving skills
