About the role
Hazel is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to deploy and scale AI-powered government procurement solutions in a classified, security-cleared environment. Role involves on-site work in DC with potential travel, building and integrating features, and ensuring security accreditation for a significant US government contract.
Responsibilities
- Define, iterate, and execute on projects contributing to Hazel’s product roadmap
- Identify areas for process and technical improvements, and enhance engineering processes and structures in classified environments
- Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and partners to understand priorities and deliver innovative solutions
- Take ownership of projects, ensuring they meet quality, performance, and security accreditation standards for a classified deployment
- Work onsite in Washington D.C. to deploy Hazel onto classified networks
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a full stack engineer or similar role
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, AuthN/AuthZ including SAML and OIDC SSO with customer IdPs, Docker, AWS and IaC (CDK), CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
- Building LLM features into production workflows
- Experience building complex, workflow-heavy applications
- Adeptness with AI Coding Tools (e.g. Cursor/Claude Code)
- Willingness to spend 25% of time onsite with customers (travel covered)
- Excitement about bringing innovation to the public sector
- Continuous learning mindset
