About the role

Mind Robotics is hiring a Tools and PLM Engineer to own the CAD and engineering tools used by the hardware teams, with 3DEXPERIENCE as the core platform. The role involves managing the entire engineering systems domain, optimizing data flow from design to manufacturing, and driving tool and process adoption across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Be the expert on all CAD tools (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE) and serve as the go-to person for CAD issues
  • Own Mind’s engineering systems domain end to end: 3DEXPERIENCE plus the CAD, ECAD, simulation and CAM toolchain, including platform administration, configuration, upgrades, licenses and vendors
  • Own the flow of engineering data from design to build, designing processes and integrations that carry released parts, BOMs, drawings and changes to manufacturing, supply chain and quality from one source of truth
  • Define how Mind manages engineering data (part numbering, release, change management and BOM structure, including EBOM-to-MBOM handoff)
  • Decide which engineering-systems problems to tackle, set roadmap, and communicate tradeoffs
  • Evaluate new tools and functionality from Dassault Systèmes and other vendors, and lead rollout
  • Set CAD, data and release standards and build training to enforce them
  • Remove repetitive CAD and PLM work via scripts, templates, tools and API integrations, turning recurring issues into lasting fixes

Qualifications

  • A track record of owning PLM and engineering tools for a hardware company where other teams depend on data and processes
  • Advanced hands-on expertise across CAD tools such as 3DEXPERIENCE (not just administration) and experience as the go-to CAD expert
  • Deep knowledge of release, change and BOM management in CAD tools (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE)
  • Experience designing how engineering data reaches manufacturing and supply chain (e.g., EBOM-to-MBOM handoff and ERP item/BOM transfer)
  • Scripting in EKL, VBA, Python, C# or similar; API experience
  • Judgment to prioritize problems and tool adoption, and ability to discern value from hype
  • Clear communication with engineers and leaders in manufacturing, supply chain and quality; patient trainer
