About the role
Internship software engineering role focused on building and optimizing data processing infrastructure for Palantir Foundry, with emphasis on open-source data technologies, query planning, and execution across systems.
Responsibilities
- Work on real problems in production systems: write a new planning rule, add capability to a native execution engine, or optimize large tables for faster scans
- participate in design, code review, testing, and release cycles
- focus on correctness, compatibility, and predictable performance
- learn how modern data systems work from the inside and apply that knowledge to consequential problems
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Rust, Scala, C++, or C
- Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Coursework or projects in databases, compilers, operating systems, or distributed systems
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Must be planning on graduating in 2028 and this should be final internship before graduating
