About the role
Detail-oriented compounding pharmacy technician to own the setup and day-to-day operation of our compounding compliance software, configuring it to document and track USP <795>, <797>, and <800>, training staff, and reporting on compliance to pharmacy leadership.
Responsibilities
- Configure the compliance software before the facility starts compounding, including tasks, documentation, and competency assessments aligned to USP <795>, <797>, and <800>.
- Confirm the system can generate reports that demonstrate compliance with each chapter.
- Train compounding staff on the software and ensure everyone is trained before their first compounding shift.
- Run daily compliance reports and share results with the Compounding Manager, Pharmacist, and Lead Compounding Pharmacists.
- Run monthly reports and deliver a detailed summary, including gaps, trends, and recommended fixes.
- Troubleshoot system issues and answer staff questions; escalate to the software vendor when needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of compounding experience (sterile, non-sterile, or both).
- Strong working knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> documentation and competency requirements.
- Current registration as a Certified/Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state where they reside.
- Experience teaching or training others, ideally on software or technical procedures.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, such as reviewing records to spot documentation gaps.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with compounding, quality, or compliance software.
