About the role

Applications Support Tech responsible for troubleshooting and resolving software issues, ensuring seamless user experiences, and supporting continuous IT operations within Lansing School District.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and fix software problems reported by users, ensuring quick and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide assistance and training to users on how to effectively use software applications, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Regularly check the performance of applications, identifying and addressing any potential issues before they affect users.
  • Work closely with software developers to report bugs, suggest improvements, and test new features or updates.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of troubleshooting steps, solutions, and standard operating procedures for future reference
  • Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from colleagues, managers, and professional development sessions
  • Build relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure a safe, welcoming, and collaborative work environment
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Qualifications

  • Minimum associate degree in a Technical Field OR certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), etc.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of IT experience
  • Strong customer service skills to assist and support users with patience and empathy, ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
  • Preferred: Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major
  • Four to six years IT experience including, but not limited to: Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, Multiple Browser platforms, Google Apps, Office 365, Remote Desktop Tools, Ticketing Software
