About the role

Data Center Technician role focused on maintaining data center operations, hardware and network diagnostics, on-site repair, and on-call support in a 100% onsite, salaried position with up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability.
  • Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.
  • Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call.
  • Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware.
  • Assemble and install equipment.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment.
  • Provide technical support to data center teams.
  • Train internal teams.
  • Develop documentation.

Qualifications

  • Computer hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling).
  • Linux operating system experience.
  • Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, such as under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as handling small hardware components and cables.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including a rotating on-call shift.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties in a climate-controlled data center with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow, specifically within designated hot and cold aisles ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.
