About the role

Data Center Technician role focused on maintaining data center operations, hardware and network diagnostics, repair, and on-call support. 100% onsite with up to 10% travel to other data centers; requires hands-on work in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability
  • Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures
  • Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call
  • Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware
  • Assemble and install equipment
  • Maintain inventory
  • Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment
  • Provide technical support to data center teams
  • Train internal teams
  • Develop documentation

Qualifications

  • Computer hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)
  • Linux operating system experience
  • Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks
  • Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, such as under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as handling small hardware components and cables
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including a rotating on-call shift
  • Ability to perform essential job duties in a climate-controlled data center with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow (60°F to 90°F)
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues
