About the role

Engineering Manager responsible for the Launch & Sandboxes team within CoreWeave's IaaS organization, overseeing cloud execution environments (Sandboxes) and services for job submission, compute orchestration, and HPC schedulers, with a strong focus on developer workflows, production reliability, and team growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering work that connects developer workflows to compute for AI workloads across Kubernetes clusters, HPC nodes, and cloud VMs.
  • Partner with product management to prioritize initiatives and unblock cross-team dependencies.
  • Ensure the team ships reliably while managing technical debt and production reliability.
  • Participate in architecture discussions around container orchestration, distributed authentication, and billing infrastructure.
  • Grow engineers into autonomous leaders and technical decision-makers, championing AI-forward practices and LLM-based tooling.
  • Maintain a heavy customer/user focus to align priorities with practitioner needs.
  • Own team outcomes end-to-end from roadmap commitments to production delivery and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience shipping infrastructure or platform products
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience prior to management with backend systems depth
  • Technical fluency in Go, Python, and Kubernetes (review PRs, unblock architecture, understand incidents)
  • Experience managing teams that own distributed systems in production
  • Ability to balance product delivery with technical health (tech debt, reliability, on-call)
  • Experience partnering with product managers to shape and prioritize a roadmap
  • Track record of growing engineers across levels
  • Strong communication skills with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity in new product areas
