About the role
Senior Product Analyst at Fivetran (in collaboration with dbt Labs) focusing on understanding how customers adopt, use, and stay with core data movement and transformation products, plus new AI/BI/compute releases. Full-stack analyst who builds data models, defines metrics, creates dashboards, runs analyses, and translates findings into product recommendations. Hybrid role based in Oakland, CA.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers and product line leaders to understand problems and potential solutions with data. Deliver regular analysis and insight on product adoption, engagement, and retention.
- Proactively investigate trends in user behavior and product usage. Identify issues and growth opportunities to shape product and growth strategy.
- Define, measure, and monitor KPIs that show product health and company progress.
- Size the potential impact of new product initiatives and recommend prioritization.
- Analyze product launches and experiments, and recommend next steps.
- Find and reduce friction in funnels from sign-up to adoption.
- Tackle questions where product data intersects with broader business data (revenue, sales, support).
- Build and maintain data models, metrics, and dashboards behind your work.
- Help new hires and partners understand data to enable data-informed decisions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in analytics, primarily product analytics, ideally at a high-growth B2B or SaaS company.
- Advanced SQL skills; ability to transform raw data into clean datasets and explain SQL.
- Experience using AI tools in analytics workflows and ability to evaluate AI outputs.
- Hands-on experience building data models (dbt preferred), creating dashboards in BI tools (Looker, Omni, Tableau), and performing funnel, cohort, and segmentation analyses.
- Proven track record of using analysis to drive product or business decisions with open-ended questions.
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and clear written/verbal communication; ability to explain findings to executives and engineers.
- Experience influencing cross-functional, distributed teams.
