About the role

Engineer role on the Find My team responsible for developing features and improving a private, secure Find My experience for hundreds of millions of users. Fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop exciting new features for Find My and contribute to various aspects of the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with a multi-functional team including hardware, software, and privacy disciplines to deliver an exceptional user experience.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with continuous iteration and improvement.
  • Build customer-facing web services with focus on authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, spam control, and reliability.
  • Contribute to CI/CD tooling integration/operations and full automation testing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of validated programming experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Strong Java expertise (Core Java, Multithreading, non-blocking IO)
  • Experience building customer-facing Web services (authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, spam control, reliability)
  • Strong knowledge of data storage and caching technologies (Cassandra, Redis, memcached or similar)
  • Strong in Java performance tuning, scaling Web Services and API definition
  • Working knowledge of cryptography standards/protocols (PKCS, KMIP, X.509, AES, KDF, CA)
  • Experience writing REST-based services using Netty or similar frameworks
  • Knowledge/experience with CI/CD tools integration/operations and full automation testing
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-functional team on high-profile, critical projects
  • Knowledge of web programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Maven, Docker, Spinnaker, Kubernetes
  • In-office availability Monday through Thursday
