Wireless Charging Validation Engineer

About the role

Quality engineering role focused on validating Apple’s wireless charging accessories (inductive, Qi/Qi2, USB-C/Lightning related) through test design, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliability and interoperability before customer exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans validating wireless charging performance, including charge stability, interoperability, and compliance across Qi and Qi2 charging standards
  • Collect, organize, and analyze test data from multiple lab and vendor test sites
  • Write and maintain scripts to automate repetitive test execution and data collection tasks
  • Summarize test results and findings into clear reports and presentations for cross-functional partners and leadership
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and vendor engineers to debug test failures and drive issues to resolution
  • Support test coverage reviews and help identify gaps across common and corner-case customer scenarios
  • Assist with deploying and troubleshooting automation tools at test sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Foundational understanding of charging systems via USB and/or Qi/wireless charging
  • Experience writing scripts in Python or a similar scripting language
  • Experience working with and analyzing test data sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Qi2 or Qi2.2 wireless charging interoperability and compliance testing
  • Familiarity with analyzing and visualizing large data sets using tools such as Tableau
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional hardware and firmware teams
  • Interest in diving into the technical details of a new accessory or system to learn how it works
  • Exposure to factory or high-volume manufacturing test environments
  • Experience supporting or leading small test projects from planning through reporting
  • Comfort communicating technical risk and its customer impact to a broader audience
  • Interest in emerging charging technologies and market trends
