About the role

Java Engineer on Apple’s Radar Platform team to help build and scale backend services for Radar, a high-traffic platform for defect tracking, test management, and work management. Role involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining Java-based microservices in a Spring/Solr/Oracle ecosystem, contributing to technical design, and growing ownership over features and services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test features and bug fixes for Radar’s backend services in Java.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and participate in code reviews.
  • Work with senior engineers to break down features into well-scoped tasks and deliver them on schedule.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues alongside the team and our Ops partners.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and documentation.
  • Follow and help improve the team’s engineering best practices.

Qualifications

  • Solid programming skills in Java or similar language, with a good grasp of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and a working understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience building REST APIs or backend services, for example with Spring.
