About the role

Software Quality Engineer to champion quality on Spatial computing devices for live and on-demand media experiences on visionOS platforms, serving as the voice of the end user for live sports, events, and spatial media.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a new automated test suite for a new hardware and software product on Vision OS, intended for distribution to cross-functional teams as part of their validation workflows and CI pipelines
  • Expand automated test coverage by authoring new tests within existing frameworks, building upon established tooling rather than starting from scratch
  • Collaborate with fellow automation engineers to ensure new test work aligns with established team standards, coding practices, and architectural patterns
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support integration of the automated test suite into their continuous integration systems and pre-submission test passes
  • Improve the reliability and stability of existing automated test suites through debugging, refactoring, and targeted enhancement
  • 10 years in end-user client software quality engineering, media or video QA, with experience writing test plans and coordinating test passes and reviews across engineering teams
  • Familiarity with video streaming concepts (e.g., HLS or DASH) and video formats (AVC, HEVC), with curiosity about spatial media playback
  • Experience leading and developing a team in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Understanding of test automation concepts and how automated tests fit into a quality strategy for OS frameworks such as AVKit and CoreMedia
  • Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Practical use of Generative AI tools to support test workflows, such as log analysis or report generation
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex issues into clear bug reports and readiness summaries
  • Experience building or maintaining automated test scripts, tools, or pipelines to run on Apple devices
  • Familiarity with Apple platform tools (Xcode, Swift) and media frameworks (AVFoundation and other OS media frameworks)
  • Working knowledge of visionOS, iOS, or macOS; experience debugging and profiling performance on client devices
  • Experience with AR/VR, spatial computing devices
  • Experience with CI/CD test pipelines; working across various OS media frameworks and platform teams

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years in end-user client software quality engineering, media or video QA, with experience writing test plans and coordinating test passes and reviews across engineering teams
  • Familiarity with video streaming concepts (HLS/DASH) and video formats (AVC/HEVC)
  • Experience leading and developing a cross-functional team
  • Understanding of test automation concepts for OS frameworks (AVKit, CoreMedia)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with Generative AI tools for test workflows
  • Experience building/maintaining automated test scripts/tools/pipelines for Apple devices
