About the role

Senior UI Engineer focused on building high-performance, accessible, scalable web applications for Apple’s IS&T Retail and Marcom teams. Drives pixel-perfect UI across large enterprise-facing web experiences, collaborates with UX, product, and backend teams, and leverages AI-assisted development and AI-powered product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Design and scale reusable component libraries and enterprise design token systems
  • Proactively measure, monitor, and enforce production performance budgets (Core Web Vitals)
  • Champion WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design across browsers and devices
  • Connect front-end clients with RESTful and GraphQL backend services, manage asynchronous data
  • Write automated tests (unit, integration, E2E), lead code and design reviews, improve tooling, CI/CD workflows
  • Leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate prototyping, coding, testing, and debugging
  • Integrate applications with LLM APIs and AI-powered workflows for advanced user experiences
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features with high autonomy

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of professional front-end engineering experience building large-scale web applications
  • Deep hands-on expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, semantic HTML5, and advanced CSS3
  • Practical experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude)
  • Experience integrating with LLM or AI-powered APIs (strong plus)
  • Proven track record architecting scalable apps with React, Angular, or Vue and robust state management (Redux, MobX, Context API, NgRx)
  • Experience building reusable component libraries or design systems; strong eye for responsive, pixel-perfect design
  • Front-end performance profiling and optimization (code splitting, lazy loading, caching, bundle minimization)
  • In-depth understanding of cross-browser compatibility, modern web standards, WCAG/WAI-ARIA accessibility
  • Experience integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs, managing asynchronous data flows
  • Proficiency in front-end automated testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Cypress, Testing Library) and modern Git workflows
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration skills
