About the role

Senior ML engineer focusing on production-grade ML and agentic systems within Apple's Proactive Intelligence team. Ships software for personalized intelligent experiences across Apple devices, building scalable ML pipelines, and ensuring evaluation/monitoring in resource-constrained environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate data and machine learning systems on multimodal inputs for production systems.
  • Plan and conduct experiments; debug and optimize agentic machine learning applications.
  • Ship software that users depend on daily; establish scalable automated evaluation and monitoring processes.
  • Contribute to a healthy team culture; uphold engineering best practices; focus on user experience and storytelling to communicate complex ideas.
  • Develop innovative tools and techniques that change problem-solving approaches.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience building production machine learning systems
  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled language like C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Java, Kotlin, C#, or Rust
  • Production experience with training, deploying, and evaluating autonomous agentic systems
  • Production experience working with ML pipelines and large datasets
  • Experience in resource constrained computing (e.g., embedded systems or mobile development)
  • Proficient at using AI agent assistance effectively as part of software development workflows
