About the role

Apple's Cellular Software team seeks talented interns to work across layers on cellular technologies, identifying and/or developing core cellular technologies to solve everyday problems for customers across iPhone, iPad, Watch, and other wireless product lines. The role focuses on cellular protocol software across Data Path, SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces, contributing to innovative solutions that impact the iPhone user experience worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and/or develop core cellular technologies solving everyday problems for customers
  • Work across layers on cellular technologies including Data Path, SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver high-quality software
  • Debug embedded system issues and contribute to robust, well-documented solutions

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Masters degree or PhD preferably in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless communication or equivalent experience
  • Strong Software Engineering skills (C or C++), good understanding of embedded real-time operating systems concepts
  • Understanding of 5G NR and LTE technologies is a plus
  • Comfortable debugging embedded system issues
  • Good scripting skills in Python or Perl are appreciated
  • Obsessively passionate, inquisitive, and focused on solving everyday problems with innovative solutions
  • Laser-focused on small details, with excellent communication and documentation skills

Skills

Required:C/C++Embedded real-time operating systems
Nice to have:5G NR and LTE knowledgePython or Perl scripting
