About the role

Engineering Program Manager for Apple’s SoftGoods team, responsible for driving cross-functional mechanical design, development, and validation programs for soft goods materials and related consumer products. Manages schedules, risk, budgets, and communication to senior management, with up to 20% international travel to Asia for manufacturing builds.

Responsibilities

  • Drive day-to-day activities to meet program objectives related to mechanical design, development, and engineering validation
  • Build and maintain project schedules, assess and mitigate risk, and lead cross functional teams with clear communication
  • Craft and monitor streamlined development plans, manage critical path, and drive timely issue resolution
  • Lead team meetings, document action items, drive follow-up, and report development and schedule status to senior management
  • Coordinate with Product Design, Industrial Design, Operations, Reliability and other cross functional teams
  • Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by coordinating with partners and facilitating problem solving and decision-making
  • Build relationships across high-energy teams and work with manufacturing suppliers and OEM partners
  • Travel up to 20% internationally to support manufacturing builds in Asia

Qualifications

  • BS ME or equivalent
  • Project management experience related to developing computer accessories or related consumer products
  • Experience working closely with product design and other cross functional teams to drive closure of technical issues and communicate risk
  • Experience creating schedules, managing program finances, and tracking budget
  • Experience fostering relationships with manufacturing suppliers and coordinating development builds
  • Analytical mindset, professional assertiveness, and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal & written communication and executive level presentation skills
  • Curious mindset about new ideas
