About the role

Internship focused on advanced assembly processes and equipment for compact optical module technologies under R&D. Opportunity to work on proof-of-concept investigations, characterization, data collection, analysis, and DOE in a fast-paced environment at Apple.

Responsibilities

  • Proof of concept investigations on new optical designing and/or sensing technology
  • Characterization for new optical component and subassembly
  • Instrumentation for data collection and experimental verification
  • Data processing and analysis (MATLAB is preferred)
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) creation, execution and data analysis
  • Problem solving - Failure analysis, root cause & corrective action proposal

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor Degree/Master Degree/PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or similar degree.
  • Able to commit for at least 6 months full-time for the internship.
  • Solid (geometric) optics fundamentals and comfortable with tackling new challenges with the critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivating
  • Proficiency in programming, experience with MATLAB, python is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation equipment such as motorized stage, camera, beam profiler
